Azad Foundation Society Aligarh

नारी सशक्तिकरण अभियान | NAARI SASHAKTIKARAN ABHIYAN

जागरूक नारी, सुरक्षित समाज | Aware Women, Safer Society

Women’s safety and dignity are not only women’s issues-they are society’s collective responsibility.

Following the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case widely known as the Nirbhaya case, Azad Foundation Society used Nukkad Natak (street theatre) as a powerful medium to create public awareness about women’s safety, dignity, rights and the need for collective social responsibility.

The street play brought a sensitive issue into public spaces and encouraged people to reflect on the circumstances that contribute to violence against women and the role that families, communities, institutions and citizens can play in prevention and support.
